Order your certified abstract of personal driving record online.

Note! - Your driving record will not appear on-screen. Your abstract will arrive by mail. Please allow at least two weeks for delivery. To immediately download, print and save your own certified driving record abstract, and also receive a copy by mail, use the MyDMV Get My Driving Record Now service (requires sign up).

If you moved without notifying DMV, do not order your abstract online until you change your address with the DMV. To change your address online, use the MyDMV Change My Address service (requires sign up). See the FAQ for more information.
If you were required by an organization or agency to obtain an abstract for employment, for a background check or to meet another requirement, make sure that the date the abstract is issued meets the requirements of the organization. Many organizations will not accept an abstract unless it was printed or issued within the past 30 days. If the organization does not accept the abstract because of the date it was issued or printed, you must purchase another abstract.

Important Notes:

You cannot cancel an online transaction. You cannot receive a refund.
You do not receive your DMV document or proof of a valid document online. You cannot print a DMV document from this transaction. You cannot pick up the document at a DMV office. Your document is sent by US Postal Service First Class Mail to your address on DMV records.
Your mailing address on DMV files must be your current mailing address. You cannot change your address using this transaction. You can first change your address online, and then process this transaction.
You cannot request that the document be sent by express mail.
If you need your document immediately, use the the MyDMV Get My Driving Record Now service (requires sign up) or apply at a DMV office.

Requirements:

To use this transaction...

Your browser must be set to allow cookies.
You must be order only your own driving record abstract.
The address on our files must be your current address. No address change is allowed. You can first change your address online, and then process this transaction.
You must provide your Client Identification Number and the document number from your license, permit or non-driver ID (see sample document), as well as your date of birth, Social Security Number and your current ZIP code.
You must provide an email address. A blocked or protected email address, including spam blocking software, may prevent you from receiving your confirmation email. Your email program must be able to receive email from addresses that include the domain: dmv.ny.gov.
You must use a credit card to pay the $7.00 fee.

Limitations:

You CANNOT use this transaction if...

You want an abstract of someone else's driving record.
Your current address is different from the one on your DMV record, or you are not able to get mail at that address. Your driver abstract can be sent only to the address on DMV's file. Email requests for address changes are NOT accepted, but you can first change your address online, and then process this transaction.
Your address is in a country other than the United States, including a military address.
You cannot provide both your Client Identification Number and the document number from your most recent NYS photo driver license, learner permit or non-driver photo ID card.
Your Social Security Number is not on file with DMV.
